At MWC 2011 (Barcelona, Spain), has officially announced its Sony Ericsson PlayStation phone called Sony Ericsson Xperia play. New smartphone game console is executed in side slider form factor and become the world's first PlayStation-certified smartphone.

Sony Ericsson Xperia play will be available in March 2011 and comes in two models – the first is support for GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA, while others are CDMA EV-DO network. It is available in white and black color options, as well as collaborate with key publishers in the gaming industry.

Sony Ericsson Xperia smartphone packs which are playing a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen TFT display with resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and support for multitouch technology, 5.1 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 400 MB of internal memory, MicroSD card slot (an 8 GB card bundled), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

New Xperia play PlayStation phone running on Android 2.3 gingerbread OS and boasting a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with MSM8655 Adreno 205 graphics chip, 512 MB of RAM. According to production, it can give 60 fps playback 3D mobile games. Dimensions of the Sony Ericsson Xperia play is 119 x 62 x 16 mm and weight 175 grams.
